Visiting Scholar in Asia-Pacific Law
6 months beginning July 2012
The Faculty of Law and the Centre for Asia-Pacific Initiatives (CAPI) invites applications for its joint Law Visiting Scholar’s position tenable at the Centre for a period during 2012. The Visitorship will appeal to middle or senior rank scholars in comparative or international law who will be on leave for at least one term of the 2012-2013 academic year and who wish to pursue their research program on our beautiful Victoria campus. The CAPI Law Visitor will be a visiting academic appointment in the Faculty of Law and will be expected to teach an Asia focused course and/or direct a seminar in the Juris Doctor program for one term. In addition, the Visitor will contribute to CAPI’s program activities in the wider community, including offering a public lecture through the CAPI Lunch & Learn Series and helping to organize a half-day workshop or symposium. The Visitor will be provided with administrative support, office space, computer facilities and electronic and library research services. The Visitor will be remunerated for teaching in the Faculty of Law, and will also receive a $25,000.00 stipend to defray travel costs and research support expenses.
Visitorship applications and nominations will be considered on an on-going basis, effective immediately.
