It’s been one whole month since I last wrote and, more importantly, since I first stepped foot in Hà Nội, Vietnam. The numerous diverse sounds, smells, new taste buds and sights I have discovered are a small testament to the fact that one month here can be a life-changing and beautiful experience.

My name is Danielle Castellino and I will be leaving to Vietnam in two days to start work at MCD, a Vietnamese NGO dedicated to improving marinelife conservation and community development in the coastal communities. I have been at the University of Victoria for the last four days to learn about CAPI, my overseas assignment and my host country. It has been truly inspirational and motivational to talk to people who are committed to improving environment sustainability and human rights around the world.
