Every goodbye makes the next hello closer

Hello again!
It's hard to believe that it has been a year since I've returned from my internship in the Philippines. Since then I have been working hard, taking classes full time and working off-campus and at CAPI part-time. Things have come full circle and after a year of preparation and what seemed like "passing" time, I am off again on new adventures, this time to Indonesia.
I will be leaving for Yogyakarta in less than
a month from now. For four months I will be studying bahasa at the Universitas Gadjah Mada with the ACICIS program. This will be my last semester, and quite a memorable way to end my undergraduate degree! After looking back on these past few years I am so appreciative for the opportunities that have come my way.
My undergraduate degree has been a holistic experience filled with both academic and practical learning. I encourage everyone to seek experience outside of the classroom and elsewhere in the world, it is extremely rewarding and enligh
tening.
I can't thank CAPI enough, first of all sending me to the Philippines with relatively no experience, just some volunteer work and a passion for advocacy. The internship was not only amazing in itself but it also opened up many more opportunities. Secondly, for the work that I have been able to do with the internship program since September. And thirdly, for awarding me with the CAPI student language fellowship to go to Indonesia. My experience with CAPI has left me with lasting friends and memories. Without support from CAPI, the Pacific and Asian Studies department and the OIA I would not have been able to take this last semester abroad.
I am excited for what lays ahead of me and I can't wait to share my experiences over the next four months with you.
Until next time (likely when I am in Indonesia)!
Bye for now.
